Technical Punto Fuse Breakages

Hi, just got a kenwood kdc-w313a cd player for my mk2 punto (51)

I installed it today myself, however i do not have much experience, and it was functioning prefectly.

I then started the car later in the day and no power to cd player or courtesy lights. Any suggestions as to why this has happened?

Hi,

I am afraid you'll need to pull the head unit out again, and inspect all the wires for damaged insulation. Its quite likely that the process of pushing the stereo back into the slot has caught a wire - broken the insulation - and caused a short circuit to ground. Wrap the affected wire up with insulation tape, replace the cars fuse - check the fuse on the stereo and if your lucky, all should be good...
