I've fonud a punto 85 in the srap yard. i dont know ifit was an sx or an elx. but do both of them have power steering? and if so, what type - belt driven with a pump - or ist electric like on the seicento?

anyone know if the bottom end of the 85's engine has a similar pulley arranngment to the otehr other 1242 engines from the mk1s?

60SX had it as an option until mid 1999, when it became standard.
55SX didn't have it as an option.
75SX had it as an option
85 16v SX had it as standard
60SX 'Selecta' had it as standard
TDSX had it as standard
TD70 SX had it as standard

Power steering has fulid, i think this is the same across the mk1 range.

Hope this helps,

Matt

Im sure there was a thread on here in the last few days that said someone tried to put power steering fluid in their punto and it turned it it was electric, cant seem to find it and cant remember if it was a MK1 or not

Not to mention the 85 16v ELX has PAS as standard too.

Like the 90 ELX, but it was an option on the 75ELX.

I'll get off my box now...

What do you intend to do?

i was after the block, but now that i know my plan of using the 8v pump housing with the 16v pump inside it won't work - i'm not going to now.

anyone got a punto75 block going spare. getting desperate now

ark the pas engines have threaded holes in the block to bolt pump to, also there not enough space in a cing to get the pump in, they also have diffrent pully and the tdc sensor mount is in a diffrent position so you will need to change that whole front bit,

i don't want pas, i was just wondering if it was electric or had drive taken off a pulley. pas in a cinq? crazy!
