I believe Flisco has a Mk1! And all P75s are Mk1. are they not? This probably goes back before the great splitting of the Punto clan, back in 2005 or so.............

The cannister is a passive emissions device-- essentially it takes up vapours from the fuel tank and passes them into the inlet manifold to be burnt.

There's no way of testing for it, however, electrically disconnecting it will throw an eml.

Leave the electrics in place, hurl the rest in the bin. Simples.

different engine i know but i just threw my cannister in bin on my cinq, the 1242 16v engine and ecu i stuck in is not even the slightest bit bothered so i would try just disconnecting it electrically and see if the eml comes on, if not just bin it all.

Otherwise just cut the bit of pipe out and replace ;)
