Hi all hoping someone has experienced this before.
Basically my 1.9D punto has a mind of its own when deciding to start or not. The code lamp always goes out, but sometimes the engine management lamp stays on, sometimes it goes out with just the ignition on.
It will always start when the lamp goes out, sometimes it starts if you crank it with the light still on, sometimes it starts and the lamp stays on and the idle speed is a little high, its undriveable and throws up a P0254 Pump flow at max error.
The battery was really dodgy so thats been replaced for a brand new one but no different, Ive also done a fuel filter and contact cleaned the ECU terminals and the terminals at the pump, no change.
Seems to be worse from a cold start, then is fine once its been warmed up or left to sort itself out for 5 mins or so.
Sometimes it also gives a P0550 Flow modification throttle error too.
Hoping someone knows what this might be please? Im thinking the pump ECU under the rubber cover on top of the pump?
