Technical Punto 1.6 90 - how many lambda/oxygen sensors?

Any mk1 1.6 owners, how many lambda/oxygen sensors came with the car?

On eper I see this:

I can't see a hole for a sensor in the manifold.

Also the exhaust looks weird:

Looks like it had 2 holes or someone made one because the thread is ruined.

Was the 90 engine came originally with 4 wires oxygen connector?

Please help me to identify this mess. there's a 2 pin connector that comes from inside the dashboard (ECU?) that comes along with the 4 pin connector.

the exhaust looks like its been repaired at some point, nothing to worry about there.. Looks like someone has replaced the CAT to me.

As far as i know the 1.6 8v should have 2 lambda's, remember reading that on here sometime, but i never really understood why, particularly as they are both before the CAT :shrug: Do you actually have some issue with the car that you suspect is to do with the lambda's or are you just curious??

Yeah, EML light is on only when moving on the same speed.
If I drive on 60mph on the same rpm EML comes on, if I press the gas pedal, brake or change the rpm, it comes off after few seconds.

And after a long drive (1 hour+) car doesn't run very smooth on idle with a stinky gas smell from the exhuast.
One more thing that I noticed when this occurs, when changing gears, rpm drops at delay. rpm drops after a few seconds and not immediately. even when trying to brake and stop rpm is still high for a few seconds.
This happens only when the car is after a long drive.

I suspect the lambda sensor since everything is new and clean (EGR, Idle valve, spark plugs and HT leads, coolant sensor, fuel pump, fuel filter etc.)
Also, lambda sensor only acts when the car is hot right?

well not only when hot really no, its not used for a very short time after startup from cold - but it really isn't a long time at all. Gotta say its so annoying there doesn't seem to be an easy way to read eml codes off these engines!!! Would be really handy in a situation like this to know the ecu thinks is wrong or what sensor is out of parameter.
