Ps3 users

Any 1 got a ps3 any good Im hoping to buy the older version to install Linux , my 360 died on me so after summit diff...I already own a wii (resident evil fan)
also wat games would u recomend?....the reason I'm not askin on a gamers forum is that you get to many fanboys dedicated to 1 brand.

My flatmate (v6keik on here) has one. I'm usually content enough with GTA four and Guitar hero. Can't say much else (bar the odd game of Fifa or COD) interests me enough!

my xbox 360 was already modded, a new fan at the rear and 2 new fans sitting around the cpu also had 2 more heat sinks added to help experse the heat just finnaly gave up .....i cant moan to much lasted over 3 year.....to be honest i found xbox 360 games to short i thought halo 3 was utter mince and gears of war 2 was wae to short,

nah those games are to comercialised should play rarer games much more effort in them than mass produced ones

As the resident ps3 nut, I would get the following;
metal gearsolid, little big planet, uncharted, both resistance games, killzone2 is a definate must, and if u didn't have cod4 on the 360 then get that too

the slimline ps3 is horible. i have the fatboy ps3 and i had like 7 games but only played one, gta4. so i sold the rest, i would defo recomend gta4 to anyone it's a must have. im a car gamesman myself so i would recomend colin mcrae, need for speed etc, oh and if anyone heer has a ps3, get the gamertags sent lol, mines is Preston09

You can set the gamertags in your profile Mines wrong though, I've no idea what it is so don't add it or you'll add a random!

Got a PS3 myself, my username on there is basically the same as on here, which the PS symbol on my posts confirms I believe

Never can afford to get new games BUT one's I really love are GTA4, which I really must get back into. Both Resistance games as Steve said, the stories used in each are brilliant and I love the epic-ness of this second one. The Orange Box is also a great pack of games...basically Half Life plus Portal, Team Fortress 2...which is a great range. Uncharted is fantastic, one of the most graphically beautiful games I've ever played and can't wait for the second one. GT5 when it comes out, but the Prologue edition's not bad and pretty cheap to buy too.

There's loads of free downloadable content and tonnes of nice features for the PS3. Earlier ones are better in general due to the backwards compatibility with the PS and PS2 back catalogue. Also, you'll get more USB ports with the first ones as well as card slots (these are only on the 60gb models, which aren't too common I believe).

Plus of course, you're getting one of the best blu-ray players on the market chucked in for free. And as a decent one of those still sets you back £150-200 odd, I think the PS3's always been a bit of a bargain

PS3 does DVD up-scaling, though not sure of the quality as I don't yet have an HDTV Have heard of a few who've dual booted on the PS3 with Linux and Windows, seems to be good for that though I won't be doing that till I upgrade the hard drive on mine.

@Keik have played the demo of Dirt 2, seems pretty decent. Loving the speed sensation and engine sound you get in it. Haven't actually owned a Colin McRae game since Colin McRae Rally 2005 on the PS2 though. Have still to get into the whole COD side of gaming. Got too many games to play at the moment
