so come on people who knows about this? from what i can gather as long aas you have the expansion pack and cd u can use any hd. what do people think of it? this is only for reasearch purposes of course i would want to break the law

putting an HD on your ps2 isnt really against the law.what were you planning on usng the ps2 HD for?

yeah you do, it seems straight forward, just need to find out how to formatt the hd or if it will just accept the games straight away.

ive read all about it now, the disk you get with the package can format the hard drive if it is not already formatted. so the bee all and end all is its a great device, rent games out copy them to ur hd and take them back and u still have the game. bravo going to work at heaven during the hols so think i might invest in one. if i do ill let u all know about it.

I have just put a HDD into a PS2. TBH its not all that useful. Is your PS2 mod-chipped? Mine is which makes things easier.
Once the HDD is in you'll need to format it with HDloader/HDadvance. Its the same softwear cept HD-advance costs, freeware that someones tried to sell.

There are solutions for unmodded PS2's that require you to swap disks to load third party software. This can now be overcome by using the memory card exploit that once installed lets you load software off a PS2 memory card though the use of a PS1 game.
Cos my PS2 is chipped all i have to do is burn the software to disk and slap it in the drive.
All i have on the HDD atm is GT4. That requires some minor fiddling to get to work. The loading speed is greatly improved tho.

hello, might as well post as i used to use ps2 hdd... i just stuck a spare 60gb one in there that i had and bought HD Advance off ebay for like £20 then its away you go... you just copy the games from the dvd or cd onto the hdd with HD Advance or software on your pc if you have it like HDL dumb (i think) and then your games will load alot faster, only downside is that you cant online game when using games from the hdd... altho the nice people at ps2nfo.com are working on it

well from what ive seen at my interview, what you lose out on in wages you make up in ladies. was told by people that work there it is 95% ladies

yeah all maxtor drives work, just keep it under 200gb otherwise you start loosing things....(simple terms)

All this work and the next gen consoles will be about in the not too distant future. To be honest it's a good idea even if you only use it as a memory card, it's still way cheaper and faster loading and saving.

Just find it with your favourite P2P software. If you are willing to copy games that you don't own, surely you would be willing to acquire the software illegally as well.

dnt do the downloading site no more as it fuks up my comp, as for copying the games i wouldnt do that as it is illegal, but i wud back them up on my hd just incase i were to get the original
