just purchased the decat downpipe yesterday, arrived today, yes , thats next day from italy!

all that comes is the downpipe, no bolts or gaskets etc...

so my question is, has anyone on here fitted one, or know how to fit?

from the pics ive seen of the original cat, im sure the cat has bolts built into it, hence, with this decat having just 3 holes, so i need to buy bolts? can i reuse the gaskets already there?

I would fit new gaskets dude. Not sure on the bolt situation, email protoxide, they are very helpful.

im interested in getting one of these, how much did it cost??

tried looking on the website but couldnt seem to find it in the past

Cheers

hi....
There should be one very thin circle gasket as it joins the turbo, and a clamp to bolt them together. From memory the clamp is a 16mm and i wouldn't worry about replacing either.

At the exhaust end there will be 3 studs coming out the original cat, so yes you will need to buy 3x nuts and bolts. Make sure you buy the proper exhaust bolts (you should be able to get these from any good car spares shop, or if not go straight to a exhaust centre). There will also be a gasket so check for any signs of damage, but there should be no real need to replace it!

Oh the 02 sensor is either a 21 or 22mm, so make sure you either have spanner or a deep socket with a cut out to allow the cable to run through.

The whole job shouldn't really take you longer than half hour, its fairly easy!

Thats just my opinion, some people will say to always replace the gaskets, however i would it there was a liquid going through them, but with just exhaust gas you should be fine! Just make sure everything is nice and tight!

Hope that helps, anymore questions just ask mate! (y)

What plans do you have for your exhaust set up?

Have you gone for a new stainless with this downpipe? or keeping the standard exhaust with this downpipe and chop and change silencers?
