Okay guys iv been reading around and im ready to start clayin my lil run around but i dont understand what i av to do once iv clayed the car?? do i wax it if so wot do i need and how do i do it ?? any help wud be gr8 :D

Dan

claying you are removing particles that are stuck to the paint either go for blit hammer soft if you have not already bought some http://www.bilthamber.com/autoclay.html and just use some water as a lube or Sonus Fine Clay but you then need to get some proper QD or like me make a le cheapo mix using a sprayer and a couple of drops of shampoo and some water much cheaper than buying QD (Quick Detailer)

RE-WASH the car after claying
Polish-started out personally using AG SRP in SMALL amounts and working till clear (to much you will know by it dusting up on you) or go like me now with a Dual Action Machine Polisher
Wax/Sealant- Wax-Natural /Sealant-Polymer based based purely on personal preference..i personally go for waxes only...currently using some Swissvax BoS at 135 quid a tub, but most go for this colly http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/wax/collinite-915-marque-d-39-elegance/prod_281.html

Cheers so when applyin the srp and wax do i apply it all first then buff it all out obv's im doin it by hand haha dont trust my self with a machine yet ?

i would do the SRP panel by panel as it avoids the dusting issues, my only points are use only a little and work until clear...plus a machine is abit pricey at the mo i would suggest.
I would repeat each panel a few times over to maxmise the filling/abrasive properties of SRP
Wax do the whole car leave for about 10 mins (no more using the colly as it is hard work if left longer than that, repeat twice i.e 2 coats should provide ample protection.

ok ok iv bought the wax :p so use the srp cuple of coats and then wait 10 mins then wax twice too, wot am i using to apply the wax microfibre ??

if your using SRP invest in some masking tape for the black plastic trim as it is a bitch to remove if you get it on any black trim

if you want the lazy option (but bloody good)

clay then use bilt hambers Autobalm (no need to polish and it seals at the same time (y)

Sorry to bring up a old thread i ordered the bit hammer no lubrication for it thou soo wot do i use?? and the auto balm does this mean i dont need to wax it or srp ???

yep auto clay just uses water as a lube as oppossed to the majority that require QD or some made up QD lol

Auto Balm is a wax but there is no need to polish thats if the swirls etc are not to bad....

im all clued up now i dont need to srp if im using auto-wax as i dont have any swirls :p sooo wash clay wash wax
