I have a 1989/1990 GReg TD 4X4 SWB Ducato van converted by MURVI in Devon to a camper my problem is the vasco support unit. One of the rubberized bearing units has gone duff and I need to get it repaired can any one help. I have removed the unit and the fore and aft propshafts so I now have front wheel two wheel drive but would not like to keep it in this state.
Fiat say its to old mate scrap it, others say the 4X4 are so rare that you will be extremely lucky to get it fixed. But its only a rubberize bearing surely someone must be able to repair it or tell me how, VW campers can get theirs fixed why not fiat?

are you talking about the viscous unit between the 2 rear props?

If it is just a lump of rubber, like a bushing sort of thing you may have to make something similar fit, alternatively fill in the perished rubber with something like Tiger sealant. best bet wold be finding a scrapper -there is one on eBay but most parts appear to have gone, and no you can't have mine!

In a similar position myself with the gearbox just undergoing an expensive rebuild along with linkages etc) but the CV like prop shaft joints need replacement. Any idea of part numbers for these to aid my search? I guess they are common with other Fiats? The 4x4 Panda? They may actually be CVs!? Any help is muchly appreciated!

Cheers,
Dan

need bearing/coupling for propshaft panda4x4 2005 fiat will only supply full propshaft cost 1200-1500 pounds any ideas where might get rubber coupling/bearing to buy or idea how to repair or any other part to substitute coupling as fiat part crazy priced:confused:

I have a contact to get these rare bearings for either side of the viscous unit, via a bearing specialist near brighton,
I have bought a pair for mine and are spot on ,only mod is to lengthen the holes a tiny amount on the carrier to accomodate the new bearing which are not genuine fiat but a high quality brand.
