Technical promlems running punto turbo

changed plugs and leads checked for air leaks but still find it backfiring and sluttering like bukkaroo when coming into boost.. could this be a fueling problem?

its a 1.4 punto turbo.. i was driving on a duel carriage changed from 3rd to 4th and the rev counter bounced all over the place, car stalled i managed to bump it because i was still moving and i had no power. i had to ease accelerator on to build up revs cause it was spluttering once moving i could only get to 2500rpm and the turbo starts whining in but the car backfires n bukkaroos like its fuel starved or not sparking. ive changed plugs and leads plus changed the air intake pipe cause it was split, an i still have the same problem.. i have no smoke coming out the exhaust either.

im guessing you have a grande punto which means your in the wrong section

ill report it so the mods can move it you will get better answers in the grande section

yeah it is but iv already asked for it to be moved, the mods should read it and ignore it though

i'd be curious as to why the engine practically stall - you bump starting it and now it struggles to run

I'm betting Cam-belt slipped a tooth
But follow the usual route - check the plugs - ht's and coil/dizzy depending what you have

Make sure there is fuel - good air intake and that there are no splits in the Waste-gate tubing to open up the turbo

What has fuel consumption been like?
when was it last serviced?
Any other problems - like mis-fire on start up etc?

has the injector light come on? if so have you done a blink test?

I'm thinking cam belt but noisy turbo can mean debris has hit the vanes/blades.

ive changed plugs ect but nothing happened, ive jus changed maf and tht seems to of done the job.. car is boosting at 22psi n i cant seem to turn it down? plus now have a thin grey smoke coming out exhaust?
