Just an observation thing really. Ive had a few mid `90s alfas and most had projector lights. Fiat fitted them to many mid `90s fiats inc top spec mareas, along with mk2 punto, barchetta and coupe but why do they no longer use them.

Was parked by an `08 punto and notice these and latest bravo have really boring looking headlights to be honest, so plain jane and yesteryear looking, why go back to twin filament H4 bulbs in the punto?

Many of the top marques are still using projectors, so come on fiat liven up the headlights, alfa manage it!!

Could it be a matter of cost?

Also, I had a Mk 2A Punto and the headlamps were HORRIBLE!!! There've been quite a few posts on the Punto forum saying exactly the same thing.

My new Qubo has H4 bulbs. I'll replace them with Philips Extreme Power units when the time comes.

I had H4s in my GP and then got a Bravo with projector lamps. I find the projectors to be pretty poor, their design makes them very focused but it means you see nothing beyond the cut off point.

Couldn't agree more. Don't like reflectors myself on certain cars. Have a set of projectors in my 2000 Bravo, found that the dipped beams were far worse than the reflector counterpart using 55w xenon gas bulbs and even 100w bulbs made no difference.

I found that with the right HID setup (I use 6000k's) they're much better then reflectors :)
