I am trying to have some specialist pipe re-manufactured....
Without going into the boring reasoning why....
Basically I need to have it certified for the use I require...
In essence for light hydraulic use...
350psi Operating pressure
1500psi burst pressure...

I need some form of official certification and testing for the pipe as I wish to be able to state categorically it if suitable for the use I intend...

I have a company that can manufacture it (believe me it wasn't easy to find one!!) but they can't certify it (although they are sure it would be ok).
I wish to cover my self legally with a test certificate...

Anyone have any experience of such testing or know how/where I could get this done?

Just a thought, but have you tried having a conversation with your local "Weights and measures" people? They might be able to advise you to whom you should go for certification.

This may not be totally relevant but I'll throw my hat in for what it's worth...

We manufacture pneumatic dispensers and any new designs are burst tested and cycle tested. We carry out these tests ourselves using very standard equipment. Our CE markings require us to carry out tests, but they do not have to be done externally. The only difference is we operate under iso 9001 so we have full manufacturing traceability. We also require certificates of conformance from our material suppliers.

If you need an external company to burst test I may be able to find a few recommendations, but they will need a standard to test to, I presume this is something for the automotive industry.

Any help would be appreciated...
is a clutch pipe .. yes yes lots available, but I require a specific colour etc...

I contacted my local council as they used to have a test laboratory... but no more... they had no idea who would do such testing and certification...

The company I am speaking to manufacture pipe for various uses but have never been asked for such specific certifications....
I just want to cover myself as I may resell the pipe...

Believe it or not the actual colour I require is simply not made.... I have been contacted by several small suppliers who had heard I was looking at re-manufacture and asked if I could supply them....

The company can supply an identical pipe in a different colour for initial test purposes, to ensure that I do not have a run of pipe that does not meet the specifications.... then the materials will be mixed to the specific colour and the pipe made and then retested...
