I have just managed to fit my JVC radio KS-FX230 and JVC CD Changer in to my new Bravo (W Reg), but every time I turn the engine off the radio and clock resets itself. I have two spare wires coming from the engine and I can not get them to fit into the JVC radio, I think these leads need to be connected?

Please help?

The problem occurs because you have no perminant live. You have a W reg bravo so you should of been able to turn you radio on and off without the keys in the ignition (right?) i can in my 97 HGT.

Please don't tell me that you chopped any wires?

What you should have is two blocks (one balck one white, brown or grey). These are ISO connectors and are the standard 16 pin type (2 by4 and 2 by 4 8+8=16). From the back of your JVC you should of had a wiring loom with a small plug on one end and a bigger plug on the other. The small one goes in to the unit the bigger block is the female 16 pin ISO which plugs directly into your car (the male 16 pin ISO)

If this is the case you should have one yellow wire and one red wire which have bullet connections half way between the unit and the car's ISO. Swap the red and yellow wires arround, you should now have the perminant live going down the correct wire so to speak.

If this does not work (as the bravo has no ignition live for the radio) one of these wire will have a 'double' bullet connector put both wires into this I.E both red and yellow into the red or 'vice a versa'.

If this is not the case then the male ISO plugs directly into the back of the unit. In which case there is a block of pins (close to the ISO) which needs to be pulled out and either turned arround or moved down by on pin. I have not seen the back of your particular unit but this is the case for both Kenwood (turn it arround) and Pioneer (slide it down one pin).

If the wire(s) have been chopped on either ISO then you need to consult someone who knows what do to as it is to hard to explain in this situation.
