Right i'm intermittantly having problems with my indicators.
Some times they work, some times they don't, or will flash once, but then not again.
I seem to remember reading in the past that it's the indicator stalk that needs replacing, is this true?

If I remember correctly they were pretty expensive too. Try this as a cheap alternative:

I intend to PULL IN or TURN to my LEFT

I intend to MOVE OUT or TURN to my RIGHT

I intend to SLOW DOWN or STOP

LOL! :)

Re: Re: Problems with Indicator Stalk

I had/have this problem with my car...

Put the indicator on and happily ticks away, then all of a sudden stops flashing/ticking although the stalk is in the right position.

It can be either the relay or the stalk. I believe the test is when it stops ticking to move the steering wheel, if that makes no difference then it's the stalk, if it starts ticking again then it's the relay. At least that's what someone told me.. ?:)?

The relay is quite cheap apparently, but the stalk is expensive as it's all one piece including both stalks - so scrap yard then :)

Mine did it for about a fortnight on and off, and since has been fine. One thing that might be linked is that I take a right at a roundabout every day to work. When going past the straight on turn I start indicating left and move over, as I go right a bit before my turn the indicator turns off and I have to put it on again. I had found that when the indicator tries to turn off, you can push it down again (with a click) to make it stay on. After my problem I stopped doing this and my indicators have been fine since....? Might be related might not..?
