Problem with bonnet lifters

rite finally got my fourth bolt for the bonnet lifters, just gone to fit them and noticed that the bonnet wont close it catches on the side of the front wing? is it just me or am i having bad luck with modding my motor everything i do goes wrong. grrrrrr.

anyones help would be much appreciated

Larger part at the top ideally.

when you took the origional bolts out that hold the bonnet to the brackets did they move slightly, if so you have proberably misaligned the bonnet, its a bitch of a job to get straight again

yer its misaligned cus a blot snapped so had to take it off one side to get it out, but the passenger side is sitting up more at the top but apart from that its not, so bigger part at the top. job for tommorow nite? wats the best way to realign the bonnet?

you will never have it perfect again, DONT ATTEMPT IT BY YOURSELF!! get someone to help you, you will need to loosen off the bolt a bit and try and push the bonnet back into place, it is a pig of a job

Some people say the top ball joint sticks out alittle and the wing needs filing slightly. Find out exactly whats catching. Bolt or the hydraulic lifters.

its the bolt your talkin like 1 or 2mm max, did you have to file your wing down? i dont wanna slip and catch the paintwork? anyone wanna come to surrey and help me?

mine did exactly the same, I bought mine from the german company and at first thought that they had sent me the wrong ones but just file the paint down on the area where it catches and they are fine, its hightly unlikely that ur bonnet has come out of alignment.

oh rite kool, so take it no one wants to help? . lol . yer the bonnet defo has cus the bolt snapped and i had to get one made. on the passenger side it sits up bout 2mm higher and is starting to catch the plastic. so its just the paintwork to be filed away?
