Problem I Think ???

Hi all

I have noticed that my 1.2 bravo has got abit sluggish, a week ago i had my anti freeze toped up and the whater bottle then read max.

I come out this morning a looked and it was down to the min but all the time i've owned the car its always bin on the min, after running the car i opened the bottle again and when the engine was hot the water is up over max.

Heres the problem when I run the engine i have noticed the mayo on the oil cap but if i leave the engine to get cold it goes back to oil, its not using any water as far as i can see but has been like this for some time.

should i expect a head in the near future.

Its a blown head gasket.

OK yeah fort so

Bering in mind the cars done 103k if i done the head how long would it last... with normal driving.

If you get the head skimmed and have new gaskets fitted it will last a very long time. If you just put a new seal on it, it may last months, weeks or days. Depends how bad the head is warped.

shorly the head can't be warped yet as the head hasen't completly gone.

The car is booked in to be checked over tomorrow so i shall drive it down there then back again and that shall probley be its last gurney till its head is sorted.
