General Problem after 2hrs of ownership

Hi all , first post
Just bought a 99 1.6 SX Marea for £450 and i`m astounded at how good a car i`ve attained for little money , Electic windows/sunroof , Climate , good engine and ride (still feel like i`ve ripped the guy off ha ha).
Anyhow back to my initial question , on testdriving the car i did the usual press every button routine and all worked well , but after driving the 10 miles home and going into have lunch , i`ve come out to find the radio cassete is not working and displaying "error 1 " and on occasion "Safe" , I`ve looked in the handbook but have had no joy .
Any help would be very much appreciated,

sounds like its loosing its memory, likely it was put back in incorrectly or something, but the dump it and get a cd player is good advise. You'll need the radio code for resetting the radio.

Thanks for the advice, thought there may have been a easy fix for this.
