Technical pre tensioner

Hi.
Can anybody tell me how to tell if the pre tensioner on the middle front seat has gone off, are there any visual signs. I am unable to pull the seat belt out, incidently this is a second hand seat from a scrappy which my wife picked up unaware that it was innoperative, and it is 70 miles to take it back so if i can repair it i will.

you mean the inertia reel wont allow the seatbelt to feed out?

Yes the belt will not pull out or it is jammed, i was wondering if there was a visible sign to say that the pre tensioner has activated, apparently the car was in a rear end shunt but the seat was folded down at the time with nobody sitting in it, but do the pre tensioners still go off. It looks as if i will be getting a new seatbelt anyway as the seat does match the rest of the seats and was a nightmare to find, any idea where the cheapest place would be for a seatbelt, would it have to be a Fiat dealer.
