For those of you with early 60S' would anyone be willing to let me know what the engine number is?

I have a tuned up 1108 from an early 60S in a later car that I'm trying to get through an MOT but it was decked and the engine number is not visible, all paperwork is long gone and the MOT station is insisting I fit a cat unless I have some proof of the engine being pre-92.

Just pm me if you can help

Ta!

Thanks for the help but it is the actual engine number I need. When the car goes into the MOT station by default they just use the registration number to look up the correct test to be performed but if the engine has been changed they have to look up the engine number as well.

My engine doesn't have a visible engine number any more thank to all the modifications done to it so they just assume it is still the original.

I guess I'm going to have to buy another engine...

Do you know the reg of the car the engine came from or one of a similar model. When I put my reg in the QH catalogue the engine number comes up as well as VIN, reg date etc

You're talking about a car I owned for all of about a week - just long enough to get it delivered to my workshop, gutted of the engine and then sold for scrap for almost as much as I bought it for... and this was about 6 years ago
