General Power loss problem

Hi, I don't know if you guys can help but I'm experiencing major problems with my Scudo Combi. It's been in the garage 7 or 8 times now and they can't fix it. The engine management system light comes on and the vehicle loses power on acceleration immediately. It has been 'diagnosed' many times and each time they change a different sensor but the light soon comes back on. It seems to happen if I am in a gear too high and the car struggles for a couple of seconds to build speed back up. The light then comes on and the vehicle doesn't accelerate properly. I am at the end of my tether! Any advice, suggestions, past experience very gratefully received.

We have had the same problem with our Scudo van, the computer keeps coming up with Fuel Pressure low primary side and low boost pressure. Can you help ? did you get your sorted ? what was it ?

its just a posibility the egr (exaust gas regulation) valve might need cleaning or replacing on scudo 1.9d this is right at the front above oil filler, leads into intake manifold. read multipla forum carefully and spot your syptoms. Ask many and reseach lots before touching these complicated things. or get someone who knows. I dont . I've just got the same problem, occasional power loss, and am reseaching it before getting an reliable mechanic to look at it.

Ahh seems there are other valves (one a power boost valve) attatched on the bulk-head these might cause the problem says fiat tech

The power loss problem I am having with my scudo 1.9 D 1999. I can get in to my scudo drive no problem , then sometimes the next time I get in to start it the van drives with sever power loss. I found that if I at the next set of Traffic lights while stopped I turn my engine off and then on again this cures the problem. i do want to find the cause of this but for now this helps.

i had a problem much the same as you , it ended up being the main fuel pump that was the problem, hope this helps , steve h
