Hi, would i see much difference in power gain between a Remus backbox and a Sportex cat back? I know the sportex are known to be quite noisy compaired to the remus but im not to bothered about this but im just not sure how restrictive the stock fiat system is, i have read that the back box is quite restrictive but not sure about the rest? Also im assuming a seicento back box wud fit a cinquecento fine? Cheers, Russ

ive got a 3 inch sportex system on my sei, not sure if it made it go any faster as my dad had it installed when he has it, but it sounds very nice, not loud, cant hear it in the car, jus when you got your windows down on narrow streets sounds loads better then the chavmobiles with massive exhausts on. alot cheaper then the replacement fiat ones as well.

O i see. What are the differences with the cinquecento and seicento exhausts? Or do they differ dependant on age? Any recommendations of exhausts for the cinqucento?
Thanks again, Russ

Sportex isnt as loud on a sei as it is on a cinq

Only backboxes are interchangeable between the two, its gets a bit different from there on in, they can be changed and swapped, but it isnt as straightforward as you would think

The exhaust route beyond the manifold is different

The sportex system isnt stainless steel or wasnt, so it would need to be replaced at some point. Dont know about the other

You will see very little gain unless you have sorted out the induction or have other mods as well so if you havent got any other mods then it doesnt matter which you get as the increase will be 1bhp if lucky

I think my favourite for the Cinq is Janspeed. They do come up s/h from time to time and -- as they're stainless and beautifully made -- tend to outlast the cars.

The MPI Sei exhausts are different from the Cinq (and early Sei). It's partly about where the cat is. But the exhausts themselves differ in the bends.

yeah it would fit you would have to modify it and possibly weld it onto your existing cinq exhaust, however as its not for your car it wont be set up for your cars system so you might not see any gains and even possibly loose power

Theres nothing to be stumped about - buy an exhaust thats for a cinq. Simple

After looking around at the back box's for the cinq and lookin at the price of a decent one (janspeed or remus) i have decided to go to MIJ performance as there price to fabricate a custom backbox in stainless steel for the cinqucento is £140 (or £200 for the cat-back)! Which i think is great as i really want a twin dtm style exhaust and can only find them in centre exit form (which im not a fan of). Thanks for all the help in making my decision guys.

Exhausts do make a difference I saw a huge gain on my last Cinq with a custom system but there again it did cost more than a complete Cinq would cost these days.

But that was on a tub, where conventional exhaust logic goes completely out of the window. Any fool can design an exhaust for a turbo (and many have): designing one for a NA car takes a lot more.
