Hiya, I've got a 1.9 JTD. When I'm accelerating hard, she flies up to about 3000 revs and then it feels like it's holding back from there to 4000 revs. Does this through the whole gear range. Anyone else had this or know what it is that causes this (maybe it's normal I don't know)
By the way, I don't normally drive like that but have been running through a nice tank of Diesel/Redex mixture on some long journeys to clean through the injectors etc. :)

I dont have a rev counter om mine but remember diesels dont really rev all that high so your prob at the point where the turbo drops off.
Most of the diesel engines torque is lower down the rev range.

Now that's a very good point, not thought of that. As I say I don't normally drive like that but found it when "pushing" it for revs during a clean through. Guess I just was getting a bit worried something was amiss.

Oh and yeah, air filter is new, great minds think alike eh? :)

how long have you had the multi. has this been a problem all along or has it just started if it has just started it may be the air flow meter this is on the pipe from the air filter box to the engine try the engine with it disconnected it will not harm the engine i had mine disconnected for about 2 years .
hope this helps.

Just gave mine a quick wizz on the way home from work last night and it flew round past 4000rpm. It was still going but I don't like to push it so you may possibly have a problem.

Oh dear :(
Mine does actually carry on past 3000 heading for 4000+ but I didn't want to push it either. It's just that it flies up to 3000 and then seems to lose it from there to 4000 and only climbs the revs steadily...........very weird

Only had the multi a few months and still finding bits and bobs out.
Never revved it that high before now though so don't know if it's always done it. Runs lovely otherwise.
What should happen when I disconnect? Will it mean that it work as normal after disconnecting, thus pointing to it being the metering?
