Pop up ads

Has anyone noticed whenever you loaded this site there's a popup ad? Not entirely comfortable with that.. :chin:

Is there a way to stop them from popping up between the time I load the site and when I login?

you can use opera or IE7 and use the popup blockers, install a stand alone popup blocker, or tick the remember me box when you log in so you will already be logged in when you start

you havent got a popup blocker!

when you open fiatforum, type in your username and password, tick remember me and it should auto log you in each time, thus avoiding popups.....

I always have the Block pop-up option in Firefox ticked and I've never had a problem with it until the last few days. The problem is, the ad pops up as soon as the site's homepage is loaded so it doesn't matter if I've set it to remember me or not.

Unless I'm doing something completely wrong?

Not a big fan of Opera, but now that I use it it ain't too bad. Only annoying thing with Opera is it blocks the smilies window..

(And I can't seem to use multi-quote?)

and multi quote dont work on quick reply either so maybe that what he means also

Same as Dave here - change it to 'block unwanted pop-ups only' or something to that effect, that gets rid of most third party pop-ups but keeps the ones you do want

never seen any of these pop ups or ads, so get the right extensions and your sorted, plus i never log out and havent had to log into site for months, so check the right thing and you should be fine.

Scan your computer for Adware, I use firefox, pop up blocker on and I have never got a single pop up from this site

Maybe there is something on your computer itself that loads on random websites rather than it being this site specifically.

I run a combination of scans at least once a week to keep it clean. Have used Opera for a few weeks now and haven't had a pop up from this site since then
