hi guys, finally got a new headunit for my cinq, and now im looking at sorting out the speaker situation...
I cant afford a sub package, so im gonna go with a stealth shelf and 6x9's in the back.
I've also managed to blag some 13cm pioneers from a mate, and I'm wondering what to do with them, would they be any good in the shelf (im looking at 6x9' cos i need some form of bass though)
the other thing i was thinking was sorting some door pods and sticking them in there, would there be any use in using the 10cm speakers as tweeters and having the 13's for mid bass? or is that a really silly idea?

what would you guys do?
woah, i can ramble, sorry bout that

i think ill probably go for that idea, cheers guys.
I'm probalby gonna try and make pods out of mdf like someone else on here did, if i didnt and just cut them into the existing bins, would it sound really really poo?
*attempting to save some work and get a little more time in bed...*

No, it'd sound worse than that!

In most cars the speakers are screwed straight ino the door metal, with some foam in between to preveent rattling/vibration. Dont see why it wouldnt be ok in a cinq, although it might be awkward cutting the holes to begin with!

I think he was on about mounting them straight to the door bins though, not the actual door.

I spent ages dithering on where to mount 13cm midbass/midrange driver in my Sei. Surface mounted on pods on the door card would have them sticking out too far, flush mount not possible as they'd get wet (!!) and kick builds were out as there's not enough room.

In the end up I made a fibreglass enclosure utilising the original door bin.

aka... me:D

im working on the principal that anything is better than the stock system, i can look at proper SQ systems when this 4 years of increasing debt pays off and im earning my millions :)

cheers for the help guys, im still thinkin about making new door pods, but since im lazy ill probs just stick with the 10's upfront and 6x9's in the shelf
