With an MOT looming and new bushes being made from unobtainium I decided to give some generic polyurethane bushes from Superflex a go. As quite a few people have them I thought you might like to see the results :)

I only replaced the bushes that go around the bar itself and not the ones round the tie-rod as there was nothing wrong with the tie rod bushes. The 15mm version of this universal bush will fit round the anti-roll bar but you must use the fixing brackets they sell as well if you want to use the bush unmodified.

The above kit doesn't include those brackets you have to buy them seperately.

If you want to use the original clamps that held the old bushes in place you will have to hacksaw 6mm off the base of the bush. My advice is splurge on their brackets as my old clamps were a bit manky and hacksawing polyurethane isn't much fun and can ruin your day. As you can see below I went for the hard option. A quick motor round some country roads showed a suprising improvement without any noticeable change in the ride.

Some of the sportier Y10s came with thicker anti-roll bars so best measure it first, you never know you may have a Turbo or GTie one.

You may have noticed the bushes are a little longer than the originals but this don't seem to be a problem.

Top man Kris.

The Y10 has just gone through its mot today. My ARB bushes are still ok but now that you have done the experimenting, I will take the plunge. All before Panda camp hopefully!

I do have a bit of an issue to sort with the stepped motor in the Y10's throttle body first.......

I'll be interested to see what difference you think they make. To me it makes cornering more precise and irons out some of the oddities of the handling.

Interestingly I am now running standard shock and springs on the front as one of the gas shocks totally failed. Apparently this can happen when you are running standard length shocks with lowered springs. The old girl looks like a tractor.

Anyhow, something else to add to the shopping list.... Maybe after next pay day

A little update in order. Polybushes with the original clamps are MOT friendly as it turns out :) After the clamps looked so manky in the previous pics they have been de-rusted with vinegar and painted and I have included random picture of new welding :p
