We have a Fiat Ulysse 2.2 turbo diesel, Eleganza, (2005). It is permanently in limp mode. We have had a new turbo, umpteen sensors, DPF removal all to the tune now of £1200 and still no joy.

DPF removal firm have done a diagnostic and it is now giving code PO245.... Supercharger (SC) bypass valve A-circuit low (wiring short to earth, SC bypass valve, ECM............Turbocharger(TC) wastegate regulating valve A -circuit low (Wiring short to earth, TC wastegate regulating valve, ECM).

We are at our wits end as it seems like this ECM is a licence to print money. Two different garages involved with the DPF removal people now blaming first garage.

Basically what can we do? we are retired and have spent too much already.

Did the DPF removal people install the correct "map"? It's NOT good enough just to remove - physically - the DPF.

The engine mapping MUST be revised in order to tell the car that it now doesn't have a particulate filter. Otherwise the thing will assume a DPF is there and incorrectly read the pressures before and after the filter.

In my experience, small though it is, many error codes result from quite small or silly things.

Was one of the sensors the "water temperature sender"? It costs about £11.50 at a motor factors (NOT a dealer) and has a massive effect on the engine management (fuelling) system...
