Someone out there must know where the fuse for the electric windows is ??? I've checked the ones by the steering wheel but they all seem fine and the panel pictures don't show that window fuses are there at all. Both windows stopped working at same time so I'm guessing it must be the fuse ?
Any help would be really, really appreciated, I'm desperately skint and I just can't afford to take it anywhere to be looked at.
Thanks All !

It'll be in the little pile by the steering wheel, can't remember off the top of my head which is it but it should be in the manual. Fuses are cheap so it's worth trying chnging it anyway even if it doesn't look blown. Both of mine did stop working when I had a problem with the wiring on the drivers side only and it didn't take long to get the doorcard off and sort it so it's worth a look there as well.

Hi
Thanks for the advice. I'll give it a go tomorrow. What did you have to do to the wires on yours ? I'm a complete novice at everything to with cars/electrics so any help would be brilliant and probably stop me blowing myself up !!! By the way it's a Bravo 1.2 80 sx.
Cheers Luisa

Oh sorry, I know what you mean though...I got a bloke out to fit my stereo and thats when they stopped working. He said it wasn't him but then he would say that ! Do you know if it's an expensive job if I took to a garage ?

Depends what's wrong with it. I also have electronics problems and having checked the fuse (which was fine), changed it anyway and checked the wiring behind it, I've done everything I can and off to the garage it is, at the cost of £25 ph.

Oh dear my new Fiat seems to be costing me a lot , shame I'm poor ! My back window de mister went along with windows so maybe it's going to be a bit complicated ? Good luck with yours, anyhow and thanks for all the help and advice you've given me recently,Helz, I'd be lost without you !!!

so the stereo gets changed and now the windows and demister stop working.

i'm 99% sure that is due to a blown fuse, and it wouldn't surprise me if both are on the same fuse.

i'd carefully check every fuse in the fusebox, thats free and i'm pretty sure its the problem.

I've taken every fuse out to check them and I can't find any that look blown. I've only checked the ones in the panel by the steering wheel because I don't know where else to look. The stereo works fine so I don't think the windows and demister are on the same one. I reckon it's a fuse blown too as it all went together ( demister and both windows ) but just don't know where it is. Any ideas where else it could be ??

I would be very surprised indeed if the windows are on the same fuse as the heated rear screen. I would think the back screen would have a high value fuse all to itself since it's a heating element.

However will check for you tonight, I think I have a fuse list in the handbook.

Here's where the fuses are supposed to be according to the book.

Rear screen heater is a 30Amp, bottom right of the 3 x 5 block of fuses. But that is seperate to the..

Electric windows, which are one of two 25Amp fuses, 3rd and 4th one down of the right hand side of the 6 x 2 block of fuses. Try swapping them over even if they don't look broken.

Hi
Thanks so much for looking Dr Pepper ! The only spare fuse I haven't got is a 25 amp so I will buy one tomorrow and check it and hopefully that'll do the job. Thanks again for your help, it's really appreciated.
Luisa

I've fixed it at last ! I changed the 25 amp fuse but the windows still didn't move . Then I wiggled the fuse box in frustration and they started working ! The demister wasn't working because the fuse for it was completely missing. Beware of dodgy stereo fitters !

oh well, at least you're sorted (y)

and as they say, if you want something doing right you have to do it yourself, or hold a big stick while you watch someone else do it for you. ;)

Yep, you ain't joking ! Anyway, many thanks for all the help , it's really appreciated.
Best Wishes All.
