Technical PLEASE HELP Won't Idle just cranks :Fiat Doblo

I posted in Nov 2019 about my 2013 Fiat Doblo 1.3 Multijet Diesel van

We have replace the following:
cam
cam sensor
a new timing chain
all gaskets.
Also service the Diesel Pump

It Cranks but does not idle

The mechanic wants to check Ecu but I'm against this as I want to make 100% sure that we have checked all that needs to be done before playing around with the ECU


Anyone got any ideas

Please, Please help

I’ve had the same problem for over the past year, my van spent a lot of time in 2 garages they changed water pump, fuel pump, timing burnt, battery, crank sensor 4x!!! It turned out that you have to buy the crank sensor from fiat cost £86 and use a rubber spacer when fitting it?

Whats the history?

Changing the chain is an odd move with a nonrunner..

is all of the intake pipework connected? if the mass airflow sensor does not read any airflow it will keep the engine from running. if in doubt unplug it
