Give topgear transmissions a ring - tell them whats happened.
I know i have a manual in a stilo but... they are gearbox specialist so maybe able to help.
other than the time delay on my job, they did a brilliant job, 18,000 miles later, the new box and clutch is still pulling fine![]()

Sounds like your master cylinder has failed. Very common on the 6 speed Selespeed / Dualogic boxes, as when I was selling the old failed part I had countless enquiries as to the condition of the diaphragm within it.
This is what fails, it perishes and doesn't hold pressure. It can't be more than a £5 part, and you can easily strip the master cylinder down, yet Fiat will only sell the whole part, which in 2013 cost me £713!
Fitting and access of the part is easy, so shouldn't be more than an hour or two of labour.
I'd get the part off and stripped down to confirm if it is a failed diaphragm. If it is will be worth seeing if you can obtain one from a local specialist or something. If you do find a supply you can probably make a few ££ buying a load of them and ebaying them.
Good luck!![]()

Hi, I have Fiat Linea with Selespeed C300 transmisson, it failed to shift and stuck at N then after turning ignition of and waiting for a while it seemed to work but it did not. I disassembled the master cylinder and found that the red diaphram has crack but when I observe the working of the cylinder I thought that it is not meant to hold pressure it just seems something that prevent entering water or dirt inside the pşston, am I right
The transmisson feels clutch not disengaging and so it cannot shift.
Trouble code is P2908 Clutch Sub sytem then sometimes P2905
Thanks in advance
