please help me!!!!!!

i got my wee yellow seicento a few mths ago,

used to have problem getting into 1st and 2nd,and would sometimes crunch into reverse, my clutch cable went at xmas and my gears werent going in right so i took it bk and the man adjusted the clutch cable and everything was fine....well until my clutch cable snapped once again,got it fixed on wed got out of the garage and wouldnt go into 1st 2nd or 3rd!!!! took it bk in and now trying to tell me my 3rd gear has gone and need a new gearbox :bang: :

just funny how it was fine now need whole new gearbox? to scared to by 2nd hand one as what if i pay for that to be fixed and same thing happens
i know you can drive without 3rd gear but just passed my test at xmas so not comfident enough to do that especially throgh the town.......
any advice as im gutted

any idea whay new gear box would cost?

If you've just had the clutch cable replaced, chances are it needs adjusting.

Do you know how high the clutch pedal sits compared to the brake pedal at all?

Very coincidental for it to lose gears at same time as clutch cable going imo

it used to be quite tight but clutch is very loose now and bite point seems to be to high, my dad has adjusted the cable as much as he can but 3rd gear still seens to be gone, funny thing is tho you can put it into 3rd but only when you're stopped (starting up going down hill)
think im going to take it into a fiat deeler but would like to know a bit more what it could be as you know when a girl goes to a garage they normally just try to pap you off

Definately sounds like adjustment to me if i'm honest with the little travel to bite etc, do you know where the clutch pedal sits in comparison to the brake pedal height wise?

I wouldnt imagain a cable going could ever kill a gear to be honest

Try posting in the Cento section - you'll have alot better luck finding out what the problem is.

just read someone elses with same problem said something about oil in gearbox? im sooooo comfused
dont know what to do so ill just go to fiat deeler see if they can give me some good news.

could be gearbox oil, but i'd think clutch cable adjustment still
