Hello, I live in France, drive a Panda series 2, and am nearly 70 years old.
I have a problem with the ABS pump, leaking and no brakes. I have bought a used replacement.
Question: do I need to reprogram this item, we have the scanner and some software...

So you are a youngster compared with some of us on Forum.
Re the ABS pump, I would first check if your scanner tool is capable of doing what you suggest on your vehicle, as not many can.
It may not be viable , but I read somewhere that on some ABS pumps it was possible to separate the electronics from the hydraulic side, if so that may be away around the problem.
Do some research before committing yourself though.

Thanks for replying.
I got the panda to replace my Peugeot 307 sw with over 300 000 kms on the clock.
We will look into the options... my son thinks we may need an adaptor cable to reset the ABS-ecu link.
If all else fails I will take it to the Fiat specialist...

Hello everybody,
From a cold and rainy mountain in the Massif Centrale of France... we have been experiencing a mix of weather, rain and sun.. so this year the mushroom season will be a cracker.

My favorite varieties are cèpes and girolles, and this is just the beginning of the season...

So my 2008 Panda is running again, we replaced the ABS pump unit, 2nd hand from e-bay.fr.
The unit can be swapped out without removing the fluid reserve or master cylinder, though it is a bit fiddly
to get the threads lined up.
There was no need to reprogramme the pump and ecu. We bled through the brakes and all is well.
