Technical Piston Rings!

Hi guys

Currently rebuilding my 1242 8v, and I need to re-ring it. So I'm a little confused as to what size rings I need. Surely I need to compensate for bore wear and honing, so do the new rings need to be oversized by much? If at all? I'm not sure. I want to do it right while the engine is out, so hopefully someone more experienced can come along and give some info

Maybe take it to my local machinist for him to measure/decide?

Take it to your machinist.

But, basically, you can't get oversized rings, only oversized pistons. So, if there gap between bore and piston is too big, you need new pistons.
