Just been looking for tires for my HLX and was wondering if anyone had any experience with either the Pirelli P6000's or P7's, or could recommend a different tire! (185/55 V15)
Thanks

i want some new tyres to. so whats good. are Kumho KH11, NANKANG any good?

Get some Goodyear Eagle F1's, last ages and good grip in dry and wet.

I've got P6000's and my g/f has P5000 Drago's both quite good all round tyres and last quite well. They're not as good as GY Eagles but they're not as expesive either ;)

Also, if you're getting four why not change the size to 195/50/15 no difference in size really but a lot cheaper.

dont get nankang. got about as much grip as a well lubricated banana skin... ever driven on wet grass? tried to do it quickly? thats how i felt with nankang tyres...

I am very short of ££ at the moment but need new tyres desperatly, i know the words cheap and good dont come into the equation when buying tyres, but humour me!

tyres needed are 205 40 r17 80

I really like Avon CR-322. Excellent grip, good in the wet, a set gives you 5% extra mpg.
They're also great value for money, and are constructed to give little road noise.

They're usually 4 for the price of 3 at branches of National Tyres, which makes them unbeatable value. A top notch tyre for mid-price money!

I've always used Pirelli P6000 and wouldn't change, had them on my steel rims at 175/65 R14 now using them again on my alloys at 195/50 R15, getting 17s soon so would use them again or Goodyear Eagle F1's as i've heard they're good too.

i went for 195/50 as they seem to be the cheapest 15" on the market and are pretty low profile. i got toyo proxes fitted for £38 each at justtyres (www.justtyres.com). the toyos also have a lip extension to help prevent curbing.

The speedo will read faster than you are travelling by approx 1.46%, so negligable (shows 70mph when you are doing 68.99... or so mr t'internet says!!!)

alloy + 185/55 tyre = 1836.26 circumference
alloy + 195/50 tyre = 1809.56 circumference
the speedo inaccuracy accounts to 1mph @ 70mph, so when your speedo shows 70mph your actual speed is 69mph.

sorry, took me ten minutes to work it out and write reply. should have guessed they'd be a calculator on the web somewhere!
