Phono Location

Just looking for a bit of advice guys and girls for my grande punto.
Going to be installing my sub and AMP tomorrow but first I will be installing one of those phono adaptor thingys (sorry about being so technical) =]
The guide on the forum says to either use the wiring from the back of the headunit or one of the rear speakers.
Which of the 2 options 'better'?

Probably at the front as there is less distance for the High level to travel and pick up bad signal. You also mean an RCA Adaptor.

My monoblock amp has high level and low level inputs, but the high level is a iso block type fitting, are these a common component to find or have a got to butcher a PC connector?

Probably readily available on ebay but not an ideal way of doing things at all.

how should I go about doing it Stu? I can't really afford to buy the hi to lo level line converter as they are around £70 for the basic ones aren't they?
