Petrol Problems

[Ste BRAVA 80SX]

Recently i have been having problems when filling up my tank, its an 80sx brava. When i put the pump in and pull the trigger after about 30-40 seconds it clicks like its full but its only got half a tank, these keeps happenin so i spend ages at the pump letting it trickle in, whilst lookin like an idiot lol, any ideas anyone, cheers Ste

By having it on full, the fuel cant get down the pipe quick enough and therefore makes it click, I get this everytime I go to Tesco's for feul. Just pull between 1/2 and 3/4 it will take you longer but you wont look like a fool!

cheers 4 tht, but i have tried tht an it still clicked every like 4p i put in, it is only at morrisons i think maybe asda or tesco is the future lol

Is it in all the way? If it is try pulling it out slightly. If you do a search this has come up before, I'm sure some said about twisting it.

Hold filler nozzel so trigger is 45deg towards rear of car too.

I found this out when I had my first brava in 1997 !

took my old man with me 2day 2 have a go, and SORTED!!!
if u have a close look theres like a little clip and if you put the pump in then push some more it will click in another cm or so then perfect, fill at ur own delight. Dads the word

glad this has popped up.I used to get same problem,Just fort it were down to the nozzles.
I could manage £40 then thats it,had to wait for it to go down an keep refilling..so basically its down the pipe and the way u put the gun/nozzle in?...
not like im gona fill up again for a while but suppose its all good knowiung for future references
