Technical Petrol engines

Have just finished reading all the depressing stuff about proposed increased taxation on diesel engines. Mine is a 1996 2.5tdi in a motorhome so is classed as Euro zero. Does anyone know of a petrol engine that could replace this diesel with anything like similar performance?

I would be interested to see what you have read , taxation for all vehicles pre 2001 either diesel or petrol are not currently charged on there emissions and I don't think it's actually possible to ?

I think Supermint is referring to the LEZ London Emissions Zone but unless you drive in CENTRAL London its not an issue
If you are going to the trouble I'd fit a Euro 5/6 engine.
