Hi, just wondered what the proper procedure is for repairing a broken wire on the airbag connector under the passenger seat?
Wire wasnt completely broken, but had a few strands that were broken causing the airbag light to illuminate.
It was fixed by stripping back the insulation, and re-inforcing the wire strands with a bit of solder. without actually cutting the wiring.
The airbag light has gone out.
But Im not sure this is a proper fix so im just confirming on here.
Is it possible to get replacement connectors? better fix might be to cut out the damaged bit on the end and put a new connector on...again though dont know if this is ok, because the system is sensitive to resistance.
there must be an official fix for this?.. not really practical to replace the whole entire rear loom for the sake of 1 connector:S.. seeming the thing costs £300
