Hello all.
I have a 2009 Grande Punto Active 1.4. It's just come out of the garage from having the throttle body done. I've just been looking right under the glove box area in the passenger footwell this morning & notice that once you look past the glove box the area underneath is not covered with any kind of covering/boxing/housing. Therefore, I can see the wires etc. You'll think I'm mad as I've had this car from new but I can't remember if this was all covered in by some kind of housing before or if it was all open like this.
You have to get down & curl your head to see the area I'm talking about. I can see where the floor carpeting comes to an end & then I can see wiring.
The reason I started to look is because I noticed a piece of heavy-duty tape/strap with a sticky side hanging down (no idea what it is!). It looks like a piece of leather belt if that makes sense but tears very easily. It came off in my hand & that's when I got down, had a look & notice there is nothing at all housing the wiring area.
I would be most grateful if anyone with the same car would mind having a look at this area in their car & letting me know if theirs is housed in (wires all covered in) or if it's exposed too. I need to find out as I'm really not sure if it was like this before going into the garage & this is normal (like that from factory-new) or if they have removed whatever was covering/housing the area & have just not let on to me. I don't want to go into the garage & ask what they've done with it if it wasn't there to begin with but if the area was covered in before I need to be able to go & see what's happened to it (they may have just forgot to replace it). Just want to get my facts right before I go back to the garage.
Really grateful if someone can look at theirs & let me know. I don't mind exchanging photos to compare.
Many thanks.
