Hi,

I have recently noticed some strange things with my Brava. Its a ELX 51 plate and 49K miles. Its been great so far but ive noticed difference with the PAS and gearbox, the issues are not related but any advice would be great :)

PAS:

I've noticed that the PAS has got 'lighter'. It has gradually got lighter over the past month. Still seems smooth and responds correctly, but just lighter.

GearBox:

Trying to put it into reverse the gears grind, but on the second attempt it usually goes in fine. Another quirk is if you put it into 1st gear first (and not taking my foot of the clutch) then it goes into reverse fine.

Any advice, or things i need to check or fix would be great. Thanks

PAS - check the oil level and top up if needed. Then with the cap open turn the engine on, and turn the steering wheel from full left to full right in place for cca. 20 times so if there is any air in the system it can come out.

Gearbox - normal, the engine must settle it self before you go in to reverse, there is no sincrone on the first and reverse there for it make that sound. If you want, you can change the gearbox oil and grease the ends of the cables to the gearbox.

Also worth noting that the height adjustable steering wheel has some effect on how heavy the steering can feel... not sure if that is correct but it certainly feels so for me..

I have a racing wheel fitted and when the position of the wheel is at its highest point it seems a lot lighter than it does at the bottom.

Gearbox - mine does the same in to reverse not all the time but a quick release and press of the clutch seems to do the trick
