Today I had to pull another car with my 2008 500 Lounge. The metal in which the tow hook was inserted on the other car broke and the elastic tow cable hit my rear bumper very hard. It hit on the metal sill on the rear bumper and didn't cause much damage. Because of the force, one of the parking sensors fell out. I managed to get to it from underneath and put it back in its place but now the PDC is not working anymore. It flashes a message "Park assist not available" I don't know if it says the exact same in English since my car is in Dutch but you get the point. Does anybody have any experience fixing something like this?

Have you tried to disconnect it and see if the error message disappears?
Probably the sensor is broken, possibly creating a short circuit in the PDC system.

Hi everyone. I haven't looked on here since I was on holiday. I have just removed the sensor and still get the error. I removed the fuse for the pdc and don't get any errors anymore. Could it be a bad fuse? Otherwise I think I'll have to replace the entire pdc wiring loom etc.

If the sensor was hit hard enough to knock it out it may well be damaged. Have you tried MES to rest the system?
