Hello

I have a 52 reg 1.9 JTD ELX model which we've had a week or so now. Reading the manual bit by bit, it looks like there should be some sort of parking sensor? I'm not sure how to do this and wondered if any of you guys know what I'm talking about?

Hello Mum!:)

I have a 53 reg and there's nothing on mine. I thought parking sensors were only fitted to the later models. You know, the ugly face lift ones.;)

Hiya demag! That's strange..... wonder why it's mentioned in the manual? I thought that the ELX models were the top of the range and would have all the toys?!

If the system is fitted, it'll come on automatically when you select reverse gear.
The beeping will increase in speed the closer you get to an obstacle (from the max detection range of 180cm), changing to a continuous tone at a distance of 30cm.
If there's a fault, it gives an alarm sound as soon as reverse is selected.

My 02 ELX doesn't have it, I guess it was an option.
I have a camera and small screen I'm going to fit instead.

Thanks - OK, so not all models have it. Just wondered, as it was in the manual, along with audio steering wheel controls which I don't have!

I think they were options on the round-nose multiplas. I've got a brochure from around 2003 and the options it lists were as folows:

Metallic paint - £300
Parking Sensors - £300
Single CD player - £120
CD Changer, 10 disc - £501 (ouch)
Steering wheel audio controls - £80
Leather steering wheel and gearknob - £125
Later ones had side curtain airbags as an option. Not sure of the price.
There was also a fridge that could be had in place of the centre front seat.

As far as I know, that was it for options (apart from a few dealer-fit bits and pieces). A pretty short list really.
