Panic! Iphone help please

Hello guys, I picked up my 500 yesterday and paired my iphone fine with the nice blue&me lady. I'm getting the blue&me adapter from my fiancé next week for my birthday in anticipation of using it with my phone for the music... But in my blue&me quick start guide it says i can't use the iphone for music?

From the quick start guide:

Compatibility ipod

What i cannot do
-Play audio tracks from an ipod touch or iphone device.

Now i'm a bit worried at this point, does that mean i'll have to buy a seperate USB stick or normal ipod to use my music? or is the manual simply out dated?

You can use a standard 3.5mm jack from an iPhone - assuming you have a 3.5mm aux input on the car.

I have a Kenwood head unit in one of my cars which refuses to work with an iTouch or iPhone for audio playback via the USB cable.

However, it does do A2DP streaming audio - have you looked into this with Blue and Me?

I'm not very good with technical speak but I was under the impression that the blue and me adapter that plugs into the USB hole and allows the use of iPods etc. But I'm reply just confused as to if I can actually get the music off my iPhone if I plug it in. And to which blue&me update the manual actually refers to.

Sorry if I'm a bit thick!

The problem is that the iTouch and iPhone use a different filing system to the traditional iPods like the Nano / Classic.

A lot of accessories designed for the normal iPods don't work with the iTouch and iPhone - and this includes many car head units.

A2DP is transmitting music over Bluetooth - which I had assumed was part of the Blue and Me specification, but apparently it isn't. Shame, really, as that works very well with iPhones if your car supports it. (My Prius has bluetooth, but doesn't support A2DP either.... but the Kenwood head unit in my Alfa 75 does)

From what I can gather, you're going to need a Dension / DICE FM/RDS box.

Awesome man, thanks for your help sorry if i wasn't making myself clear in my posts. The iPhone likes to correct spelling mistakes with random words that don't quite work sometimes.

the blue and me adapter for iPod (white box) does work with iPhone I have it working in my 500...
