Had my 2016 Panda for a week now. Great to be back to a Panda after 3 1/2 years driving VW Up. I can't understand why "professional" car reviewers rate the VW as a better car than the Panda. Panda much better to drive, has more power and is bags more fun. My wife has dispensed with the cushion that she used in the Up so that she could see out of the window lol.
Bought white Lounge model and I am very pleased with the difference in handling between my old type panda and this new model. Here's to many thousands of fun miles:D

I like the up. But it is just a bit "meh".

My panda is now 3 and everything still works, no rattles, nothing has fallen off. And it makes me smile every time I get into it.

It has loads of faults, but also loads of character. Which a rare thing to find in a budget tiny car.

We looked at the VW/Seat/Skoda triumvirate when we were looking for a small car, deducing that the Skoda was not only the cheapest, but had the best interior out of the 3. As others have said - the Panda was just far more interesting, it feels more 'finished', but also with added 4x4-ness. It came down to the Panda or then-just-released new Twingo as a choice. Loved the uber-tight turning circle of the Twingo and the idea of rear-engine, but the Panda is more practical on all other counts (and if road tests are to be believed, more refined). We still feel we made the right choice!

Press is always blowing VW's horn.
Never understood the appeal of there cars esspecialy at the price.
Never like the way they drove except for the latest Passat, all other models I found the equivelant Ford models to drive much nicer .Did like the Transporter vans though with the 2.5 litre v5 tdi engine witch I drove for work for quite some time.
For small cars I'm realy a big fan of the Fiat offerings over the years. Always plenty of character and driving fun with littlle hassle. Only other smallish car I might considder is a Ford Fiesta but I personally feel the Fiats are better quality allthough the Fords have the better handling.

Nothing wrong with my Panda's handling. :D

The missus car is a Fiesta Titanium X 2015 and I have to say it's very well screwed together, very fun to drive and is a very together package

However.....

I personally think the panda is more fun, yes it's not as entertaining to drive and it isn't the mile muncher the fiesta is, but to my mind the fiesta doesn't have any soul. It's more akin to a white good. Very effective but it doesn't make me smile, I don't look forward to driving it as much as the Panda and I never feel the need to look back at it when I'm walking away in a car park like I do with the Fiat either. Just my 2 cents :)

I've driven a few Ups and the odd Citigo and Mii and they are ok, but do seem a bit cheap.
Ok they are fairly cheap, but it's not just the touchy touchy parts, but the general feel of the design, it's like they've tried to style it, then worked out it costs too much!

You might not love any of them, but park an Up next to a Twingo, a Panda or a new C1 or Aygo and it looks really dated.

I don't like their horrid three cylinder engines, there's an odd harmonic beat to them that wobbles your bum it the seat (unlike Fiat TA strum) and they sound like diesels.
Odd really as I love the Triumph triples in their bikes.

Also, they have really nasty gearboxes, the rattle and lash from them makes me wonder if anybody bothered with filling it with oil.

VW are now warning not to expect too much of their new turbo Up, they say it's no GTi!

agree with gear box quote. I often had to double clutch to get reverse
