Nice to find a useful site!

My 2014 Panda Pop suddenly lost power on a major junction, which was a tad scary! Anyhoo, RAC came along and diagnosed an engine misfire...advised to take it to the garage first thing.
Garage did their dignostics, changed the ignition coil pack, HT leads and spark plugs for £329 inc VAT.
Car seems to be fine now - though I feel a little nervous about it now, but hopefully this will pass!
Have purchased some Cataclean to give the engine a bit of a clean and me more peace of mind.
I'm surprised that such a 'young' car with 25k miles on has failed with something like this.

Hi and welcome to the forum :)

Which engine do you have?

My guess is a 1.2. Is 2014 too early for Twinair?

Price seems a lot for coil packs, leads and plugs, but I've not been near a garage for a long time, so out of touch with costs. Something frightening to look forward to when I get too old to do it myself.

Coil pack is a known occurrence on the 1.2, although may never suffer. (Having said that, mine will now break next time I use it:cry:) Leads need replacing every few years.

Once changed, all will be well for some time, so be confident, and enjoy the little car.

Coil packs can fail on any make of car not just Fiats.
Its always a good idea to give the top and accessible parts of the coil pack a clean with a cloth dampened with WD40, it can help to stop tracking which can cause hairline cracks and failure. Plug leads also deteriorate and of course plugs themselves are a normal service replacement.
Personally I'd save your money and dispence with using cataclean, there is no evidence that these things actually work.
