General Panda Clock

General Panda Clock

I picked mine up from a local scrappy. Im sure I have read one of the other forum members has a couple. They are very easy to fit, remove your dash and you will see the wires that plug into the back, along with the two mounting points. Its a simple 10 min job.

Looks like I got mine off pandafan at just the right time! :D

I imagine the clock won't be backlit as none of the switches on the dash are either. I could of course be wrong, and someone with the luxury of a panda clock will undoubtedly add some factual knowledge to this.

I think some of the later pandas, or maybe only the very latest pandas abroad, did indeed have backlit switches. I imagine if those switches could be picked up from somewhere, it would be a relatively simple modification.

Later CLX ('93 on) have backlit switches, but the (backlit) clocks are often terribly noisey - I suppose running non-stop for 12 years or so is beyond their design life.

The clocks are usually backlit, as are most of the switches, usually. The little bulbs don't last forever y'know.

I'm pretty sure the switches out of the old CL aren't backlit - you 4x4 owners are spoilt :)

May have a look later, if I can find them.

John...that surprises me about your cl. The one that I recently scrapped had a bulb at the bottom of the heater slides. The light travelled through clear plastic moldings to the top of the other switches.
