Technical Panda 900 1999: I can't put in gear; clutch problem??

Hello, I hope you can help me !!
I have a strange problem: When the engine is running, I can't put any gear in any way.
If I keep pushed ther gear selector and the clutch pedal pressed, and then turn off the engine, at the exact moment in which the engine cease to run, the gear starts to work correctly.

If you leave for example in first speed, press the clutch pedal, and start the engine, it works as expected (with a little "bite" of the clutch, that seems almost move the car).
But after that, you can't change any gear (you can disengage the gear, but non re-engage it again).
If you turn off the engine, you can easily change any gear, as I said before.
Can be a clutch problem? Or the gear is involved?

Hi,
1999 year - so cable driven gearbox.

First point to look at is gearbox oil level check, next cable adjustment if exist.
Looks like there is someting wrong with the gear selector at the top of the bell housing.

Sounds like the clutch is not disengaging properly to me, check the clutch cable is adjusted properly, if ithat is ok then it is probably an issue with the clutch itself which will mean removal of the gearbox to fix.

Just in case anyone could have the same issue:
the clutch was broken; I changed it.

Incorrect on the cable. If the cable is incorrectly adjusted it can cause the clutch to drag, stopping the gears from being engaged, but it would still be ok with the engine off.
