Basic 4x4 is rather odd on ice B)
You loose the ability to throttle steer in either the FWD or RWD sense.

Haven't done it in a Panda, but I had to drive Landrovers (of the ancient original type) many years ago.
I suppose there is some technique they might teach you in Solihull ( for money ) but I couldn't get on with it at all.
