Technical Panda 2013 4x4 juddering back end

Hi all, my fiat panda 1.3 diesel 4x4 2013 is having the same issue. Clunking noise at low speeds and low revs especially in gear 2. The noise resolves when at higher speeds (50km+).

I think it's the rear differential as I had the prop shaft replaced.

Did anyone get to the bottom of the problem?

@tomdee this describes what I am experiencing. How did you know which CV joint was dry or was it showing visible signs like a split boot?

The mechanic inspected a series of components by trial and error, and when he checked the CV joints he noticed that one of them was completely dry of grease, even though the rubber boot wasn’t damaged. What he did was simply add new grease and keep the same boot.

I have come across many CV boots that have been replaced bone dry with no CV grease etc. Obviously not trained the way I was!
