Hi, My partner has just bought a 2007 Stilo Blue which has the Fiat Bluetooth kit installed as standard. We can't seem to be able to work out how pair our phones with it.

I would have expected it to have to simply search for the device from the phone but when we do that nothing is recognised.

Does anyone know if bluetooth needs to be switched on somewhere or could it simply be the fact that the phones aren't compatible. One strange thing that happens is that we hear a womans voice speaking an Italian phrase whenever the car is started. This could be something to do with the phone system but not being able to understand Italian....

Anyone got any ideas?

Mike

Hi Mike Welcome to the FF.

You're the first person I've seen on the forum posting about the Fiat Blue & Me system in a Stilo. It was added very late to the Stilo's range.

You can download a Blue & Me supplement to the handbook from the forum downloads section here:

https://www.fiatforum.com/downloads.php?do=cat&id=5

It lists compatible phones but I believe with subsequent software updates, the list has increased.

There's also a dedicated Blue & Me section of the forum here:

Thanks Davren, I went through the procedure listed in the guide but neither my partner's or my phone will pair with the Stilo bluetooth.

It almost looks like the Stilo bluetooth isn't switched on. But it could be down to the fact that neither phone is compatible (Sony Ericsson W595 and Blackberry Curve) since these are relatively new phones and the Stilo system is over 3 years old.

Not sure what to do next.

Mike

Hello mikewb.

You may find that your phones are not compatable due to the versions of Bluetooth they are running compared to the Blue & Me unit.

There are several versions, your phones will no doubt be running the latest ones, the Blue & Me may be running an older version and may not be compatable because of it.

The Blue & Me unit has a USB port I think, would it be possible for you to plug in your own Bluetooth dongle and connect your phones to that instead?

I have this blue and me thing in my stilo. I also hv a sony ericsson and mine connects just fine. Is there actually a USB slot in the car though as i can't seem to find one??

Does anyone know where the bluetooth control unit is located in the Stilo?

Also, is it the same as the Blue & Me systems fitted in the Bravo?

According to the Stilo BlueTooth supplement, it's situated "on the lower dashboard wall" probably doesn't help much.

Also, is it the same as the Blue & Me systems fitted in the Bravo?

Also looking at the BlueTooth supplement, it would appear that it's not the same as the Blue & Me system as I inferred in post #2.

It appears that the Stilo BlueTooth system is only capable of pairing with phones. I don't know whether there were any updates to it to enable it to be paired with phones other than those in the list.

Press green and red phone icons together, let go when you hear a message in Italian, wait and you will get another message in Italian, the bluetooth is now awaiting pairing..look on your phone for available devices and select "v3.15" when prompted for a code, enter "1234" you should get a confirmation beep and hey presto.. you're paired
Hope this is of help to you
